Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Homelatch, including our website, apps, and relay (together, the "Service"), operated by Homelatch from Chicago, Illinois. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Homelatch is

Homelatch lets you reach a Mac you control from your other devices: its screen, shell, and files, and optionally its camera and microphone in meetings running on it. The connection is end-to-end encrypted and our relay carries only signaling.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old, provide an accurate email address, and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity on your account and on the devices you connect.

4. Acceptable use and authorization

You may use Homelatch only with computers and accounts you own or are authorized to access. You agree that:

You will connect only Macs you own or have permission to control, and you will not use Homelatch to access any system, meeting, account, or network without authorization.
You are responsible for complying with the rules, policies, and agreements that apply to the systems and services you reach through Homelatch, including any employer, school, or provider policies and the terms of any meeting or conferencing service you join.
You will not use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, or interfere with the Service or other users.
You will not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or circumvent the licensing or security of the Service, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

5. Free trial, plans, and billing

New accounts include a 14-day free trial with no payment required to start.
After the trial, continued use of paid features requires a paid plan: monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices shown on our site. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change with notice for future billing periods.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Intellectual property

Homelatch and its software, branding, and content are owned by us and licensed to you, not sold. You retain all rights to your own data and to the Macs and content you access. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOMELATCH WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Homelatch harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms, including any unauthorized access you make through the Service.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. You can export or delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and update the date; material changes will be communicated by email or in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois for any dispute not otherwise resolved.
